Common Things And Behaviour That Annoy DJs During Events

Melbourne DJs work hard to do their jobs but sometimes there are things and people that get in their way. Besides the overpriced drinks and the drunk and disorderly people, we have come up with some common things that annoy DJs.

People who touch DJs’ equipment

If you came to party then go ahead and party but avoid touching things that don’t belong to you. One press of a knob or a button can stop the music and the whole crowd will be staring at the DJ and booing. People touching DJs’ equipment is common. It may look cool but it is always good to resist the urge of touching the spinning thing.

Song requests

Most DJs have the next five songs planned out as they watch the crowd dance to the music. DJs in Melbourne uses the reaction of the crowd to plan their playlist and song requests may disrupt them from mixing what they had planned. This can ruin the flow. What annoys DJs the most is when people don’t know the title of the song and start singing in their ear.

People talking to DJs during their transition

It is already annoying when people come up to talk to you but it is very annoying when people talk to you when transitioning songs.

Undermining the work of the DJ

People see the fame and the glory that comes along with being a DJ. What most people don’t see is the effort and the time you take trying different transitions and editing songs. DJs take a lot of time to practice scratching and digging into different types of music. It is annoying for people to think that being one of the topmost Melbourne DJs is easy. Most people who think being a DJ is easy cannot do it if you told them to be DJs.
